Atwea welcomes new trainer Tristan Forbes
Tristan Forbes is our newest staff addition to The Creative Arts Space in Hamilton. Teaching the Music Skill Set and the Certificate III in Music Industry, Tristan combines a mixture of core and elective units that assists learners to achieve their goals and contextualize how they can fit it into their own strengths. Tristan endeavours to provide students with useful knowledge that they can then enter the industry with.
Tristan鈥檚 background is incredibly diverse, including working as the Senior Audio Engineer for Norwest Productions for 6 years. He was involved in many of their major events providing PA design and implementation, mixing and system optimisation.
He has worked as a freelance audio engineer for touring bands around Australia, working with too many names to mention! He also currently works for Odette, Bag Raiders and Bootleg Rascal as a front of house engineer.
Tristan鈥檚 work has taken him to India, Nepal, Tibet and Mayanmar as part of a team on a recording expedition. He mixed and mastered an album for The Gandarbha. He has also worked for Foxtel and Channel 10 Studios.
Tristan describes his experience with teaching at Atwea as an organic feeling. He feels teaching individuals in a collaborative environment is rewarding for both the learner and the instructor. 鈥淚t鈥檚 fun, it鈥檚 a wholesome experience and I really enjoy the insightful discussions amongst learners to achieve outcomes.鈥
When asked why he chose to teach at Atwea Tristan says, 鈥渨e all have knowledge to share and Atwea is a place where I can genuinely seek to help others.鈥
